Rubber

ALTIFIL™ and ALTIPLUS™ products are versatile additives that can be used in manufacturing rubber products as a processing aid, functional filler, and dusting and mold release agent. The addition of a platy filler in rubber helps to reduce cost, lubricate molds, reduce the viscosity of the rubber compounds which helps in the processing of molded parts and tires, and prevents surfaces from adhering together during production. Several properties of pyrophyllite that affect the quality and smoothing of rubber are the platy structure, smoothness, greasiness and chemical inertness, which provides good permeability and weathering of the final product.

Fiberglass

Pyrophyllite is a key component in commercial production of E-Glass fibers, which enables the elimination of sand in the batch and improves batch-to-melt conversion efficiency and lowers conversion energy.

Plastics

Trinity offers a high brightness, high aspect ratio product that replaces talc as a reinforcing additive for strength.

Agriculture

Pyrophyllite’s presence in agriculture includes its use as an anti-caking agent and moisture barrier in feed pre-mixes, enhancing the flowability and effectiveness of agricultural products.

Ceramics

In ceramics, pyrophyllite is employed to manufacture high-temperature porcelain and whiteware, ensuring consistent and robust finished products in kiln firing processes.
