Pulp and Paper

ALTIPLUS™ and ALTIBRIGHT™ are used in the pulp, paper and board industry as suitable pitch control and stickies control agents, trapping residual resins that cause blemishes in paper sheets, improving quality and overall productivity. They are used in paper coating applications, where high brightness, high whiteness, smoothness, opacity, and dimensional stability is especially important, as a coating pigment and as a multifunctional filler, and are suitable extenders for titanium dioxide. Pyrophyllite improves product quality with its chemical inertness, hydrophobic properties, high reflectance, softness and provides a high alumina, low silica mineral filler with exceptional whiteness. ALTIPLUS™ products can also be used in the paper recycling process as de-inking agents.

Pyrophyllite is a key component in commercial production of E-Glass fibers, which enables the elimination of sand in the batch and improves batch-to-melt conversion efficiency and lowers conversion energy.


Trinity offers a high brightness, high aspect ratio product that replaces talc as a reinforcing additive for strength.


Pyrophyllite’s presence in agriculture includes its use as an anti-caking agent and moisture barrier in feed pre-mixes, enhancing the flowability and effectiveness of agricultural products.
